New Chair of Healing Through Remembering
Dawn Purvis has been appointed Chair of the cross-community organisation Healing Through Remembering (HTR). She replaces Professor Brandon Hamber who has been Chair since 2007.
In taking up the position Dawn said “I am delighted to be the Chair of HTR, particularly as it meets the challenging times ahead on the issue of dealing with the past.
“I look forward to building on the success of the organisation to date and am honoured to follow Brandon Hamber and Roy McClelland in the role of Chair of HTR.”
Brandon Hamber remains a member of the HTR Board. He said “It has been a great privilege to serve as Chair for the last four years. The organisation has grown substantially over the last decade and remains critical to the debate on dealing with the past.
“I am delighted to be followed as chair by Dawn Purvis. Her energy, vision and deeply-rooted approach to dealing with the past will undoubtedly push the organisation forward and, more importantly, further and deepen the debate about the past.”
Healing Through Remembering is a Peace III funded cross-community organisation that considers how to address the legacy of the conflict in and about Northern Ireland.
