Healing Through Remembering takes part in NUJ Journalists’ Safety Conference

Healing Through Remembering, together with the WAVE Trauma Centre, will participate in an NUJ sponsored conference on Journalists Safety: the Northern Ireland Experience to be held at the NICVA Conference Centre on Friday 30th September 2011.
Held ten years after the death of the journalist, Martin O’Hagan, the event will provide a forum for journalists to discuss the legacy of the conflict and any lessons that have a bearing on the future safety of journalists.
This conference will bring together journalists to share their experience and stories of conflict journalism, talk about current events and methods of newsgathering and make recommendations to improve journalistic ethics, training and industry practice.  The conference will be run in a non-judgemental environment where journalists in a peer group to peer group environment will be able to share their experiences.
Healing Through Remembering will facilitate break out workshops for conference delegates.
